These little 'minis' are perfectly small, yet dramatic pieces that represent the raw, unfinished and beautiful quality of nature, and the same which can be found when we let each artistic medium let us guide our practice.
In these particular pieces, which are watercolour and soft pastels on raw, handmade cotton paper, we see and feel the same - the translucent and gradual changes in the watercolour sky, and that of the dense, layered and textural quality of the soft pastel florals. This contrast is so beautiful to me and especially so when each material is free to be itself, without overpowering the other. In fact, together they further enhance the natural quality of the cotton rag paper. I love them so much for what they represent, and hope you do too.
