Featuring a collection of 14 FRAMED watercolour and soft pastel originals, these little 'minis' are perfectly small, yet dramatic pieces that represent the raw, unfinished and beautiful quality of nature, and the same which can be found when we let each artistic medium let us guide our practice.
These pieces celebrate all things minimal and humble, and references back memories from various trips and cities or places. I want to share my love of mini art with you, because it celebrates efficiency and concentrated impact in a small physical space. Texture and depth are maximized in a small mini piece, and each of these pieces are accented by a large off-white textured paper mat and ornate frame to draw you in, without being loud. The space around each of these pieces are carefully chosen to enhance the scale of the piece. I've decided to sell each piece framed so as to make it simple for you and take all the guess work out of framing art at home.
In these particular pieces, which are watercolour and soft pastels on raw, handmade cotton paper, we see and feel the same - the translucent and gradual changes in the watercolour sky, and that of the dense, layered and textural quality of the soft pastel florals. This contrast is so beautiful to me and especially so when each material is free to be itself, without overpowering the other. In fact, together they further enhance the natural quality of the cotton rag paper. I love them so much for what they represent, and hope you do too.
